Humboldt County Sheriff’s Investigators are conducting a death investigation after responding to a report of a dead body in Hoopa yesterday evening. At about 6:00 p.m. Thursday, two people reported finding their acquaintance deceased on the property where he was staying off of Red Rock Road in Hoopa. Sheriff’s Deputies and Detectives responded to the property and confirmed there was a deceased male in the yard. The victim appeared to have been deceased for several days. Although a cause of death has not been determined, detectives are calling the death a homicide. The identity of the victim is unknown.
The Sheriff’s Office is interested in locating a gray Nissan Frontier extended cab pick-up truck, California license plate 6G86384. The truck may be associated with the victim and may be useful in identifying him.
