This morning deputies with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at a residence on the 3100 block of Mitchell Road off of Myrtle Ave. The warrant was served as part of the follow-up investigation into the case against Geoff and Maria Brandon. The Brandons were arrested earlier this month in Pottawattamie County, Iowa after being found in possession of 116 pounds of marijuana. The couple was back in Humboldt County after posting bail. At their Mitchell Road residence this morning, deputies found more than 200 growing marijuana plants and $10,000 hidden inside the residence.
Deputies arrested Geoff and Maria Brandon and transported them to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility. Both were booked for the cultivation of marijuana and possession of marijuana. Their bail was set at $100,000 each and they are expected to be arraigned Monday.
Prior to serving the warrant, agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) contacted the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office and indicated they were conducting an investigation regarding the Brandons and the purchase of firearms in Nevada. ATF Agents were present at the service of this morning’s search warrant and multiple firearms were recovered.
