At about 9:30 this morning, an armed robbery was reported as Cloney’s Pharmacy on Harrison Avenue in Eureka. The suspect entered the store, brandished a black handgun, and demanded OxyContin. The employee complied and the suspect fled the store. He was last seen running across Harrison Avenue and then running toward Buhne St. through the medical buildings.
Sheriff’s Deputies searched the surrounding area and an Arcata Police Officer with his K9 partner responded to the area to assist with search. Officers with the Eureka Police Department searched within Eureka City limits.
The suspect is described as a white male adult, about 5’10 tall, average build, in his 20’s. He has brown hair with dark circles around his eyes. He was last seen wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt, black pants, a dark baseball cap with an unknown logo, and black tennis shoes with white stripes. His face was covered by a white or tan bandana with the common “bandana paisley” pattern.
Cloney’s Pharmacy was robbed last Monday, April 19, 2010. While similarities exist between the two robberies, Sheriff’s Detectives are emphasizing the importance of evaluating the evidence from each crime before drawing any conclusions.
