A Eureka man was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility early yesterday morning after a deputy found him to be in possession of 44 grams of heroin. At about 1:30 a.m. a Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on U.S. Highway 101 near Herrick Ave. The deputy learned that the passenger, Timothy Hamilton Lewis, 38, was on parole. The deputy searched Lewis and found him to be in possession of 44 grams of heroin, .3 grams of methamphetamine, a small amount of marijuana, and a suspected Ecstasy pill.
Lewis was booked for possession of a controlled substance, possession of a narcotic controlled substance, possession of a narcotic controlled substance for sale, possession of marijuana, and a violation of parole. Lewis is expected to be arraigned by Wednesday. He is ineligible to post bail due to his parole status.
The driver of the vehicle was released at the scene.
