Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputies received a report of an armed robbery in Eureka last night. At about 8 p.m., deputies were called to the Fairway Market on Herrick Avenue when an employee there reported being robbed at gun-point. The victim told deputies that a man entered the store and pointed a black handgun at her. The suspect demanded that she put money from the cash register into a black duffel bag he had brought with him. The victim complied and the suspect left the store. A witness saw the suspect leave the store and reported he drove away in a pick-up truck. The witness said the suspect drove southbound on Meyers Avenue.
The suspect was described as a “younger” white adult male between 5’5” and 5’8” tall with a slender build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled over his head and around his face. He was also wearing black gloves and possibly blue denim pants.
The suspect’s vehicle is described as a light-colored (possibly silver) Toyota extended cab pick-up truck with a light-colored camper shell.
