Three people were arrested yesterday afternoon after Sheriff’s Deputies discovered drugs during a vehicle investigation. At about 3:30 p.m., deputies were called to the area of Berry Lane and Ridgewood Drive in Eureka for a report of suspicious activity. Deputies contacted several people who were near a parked motor home. Deputies learned that one of the women, Lashaun Araneo, 34 of Eureka, was on parole. A second woman who exited the motor home, Marissa Carlson, 20, was on probation with a search clause. Deputies searched the motor home pursuant to the terms of Araneo’s parole status and Carlson’s probation status. Inside, deputies found the following:
• 8.8 grams of heroin
• 0.8 grams of methamphetamine
• 23 pills (narcotics)
• 30.5 grams of marijuana
• Five hypodermic syringes
• Several glass smoking pipes
During the search of the motor home, deputies found Katherine Carlson, 22, hiding under a mattress. Katherine had two outstanding felony warrants.
Deputies arrested all three women and transported them to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility. All three were booked on multiple drug charges.
(It is unknown if Katherine and Marissa Carlson are related).
