On the above date at about 2:00 PM, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence in the 2400 block of Hubbard Lane, Eureka, to assist with a welfare check. When Deputies arrived a male was seen fleeing out the back of the residence towards Moore Avenue. Deputies pursued the male. Several citizens in the area helped deputies by pointing out the directions he was fleeing. After a few minutes the Deputies were able to catch the male and detain him, without further resistance.
The male was identified as Casey Grunden, age 28 of Eureka. Deputies learned Grunden had a felony warrant for his arrest for a weapons violation.
An additional female was located during the search. The female was identified as Marissa Lopez-Magnusen, age 40 of Eureka. Deputies learned she had a felony warrant for her arrest for narcotics violations.
Grunden and Magnusen were both booked into the HCCF for their warrants.
The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank all the citizens who gave directions to the pursuing deputies, therefore assisting in the arrest of two felony warrant suspects.
