On 09-06-2012, approximately 12:15 a.m. Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office deputies on patrol in the Orleans area saw a Blue Plymouth Neon parked in the Karuk Medical Center parking lot. The deputies drove in to check on the vehicle which was parked diagonally against the painted parking spaces. The deputies could see the vehicle was occupied by four people, two males and two females. As one of the deputies spoke with the driver of the car, the second deputy saw a Black Ruger .22 caliber rifle in the vehicle on the floor board. That rifle was later determined to be loaded. The deputies had all four occupants exit the vehicle and detained them. Deputies learned Sean Hawk , 27 years old from Orleans, who was the front passenger in the vehicle was on felony probation and was prohibited from owning a firearm. Deputies searched Hawk and located a loaded .22 caliber magazine in his pants pocket, along with a glass pipe used to smoke methamphetamine. Deputies searched the driver of the vehicle who was identified as Seth Pine, 18 years old from Happy Camp, and they located an empty .22 caliber Ruger magazine in his pants pocket. When deputies searched the vehicle further they located a second .22 caliber Ruger rifle with a scope, which was not loaded. They also located approximately 7 grams of hashish, a loaded 30 round high capacity clip for a .22 caliber rifle, and approximately 400 grams of dried marijuana.
Deputies arrested all four of the vehicles occupants. All four were transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where they were booked. The two female passengers identified as Janey Goodwin aka Hawk, 25 years old from Happy Camp was booked on charges of illegal possession of a firearm, and violation of probation, and Alichia Perez De Acosta, 29 years old, from Happy Camp was arrested on charges of possession of concentrated cannabis, illegal possession of a firearm in a vehicle and possession of marijuana. Both Females were booked and released. Seth Pine was arrested on charges of carrying a loaded firearm in a public place and for violation of probation, his bail was set at $25,000.00 and Sean Hawk was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm, illegal possession of a loaded firearm in a vehicle, probation violation, possession of a controlled substance, for providing a false name to a law enforcement officer. His bail was set at $50,000.00.
