The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit has seized 58,795 growing marijuana plants from January to October 2003, plus 600 pounds of dried processed marijuana. Of the 58,795 marijuana plants seized, approximately 42,000 were seized from indoor marijuana growing operations.
The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement unit has served 62 search warrants and arrested 63 subjects for marijuana related offenses since January 2003. The marijuana case have resulted in the seizure 136 firearms, $341,000 dollars in cash and an additional $690,000 dollars in property.
The Campaign Against Marijuana Planting or C.A.M.P. assisted the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office for a total of 8 days in 2003 in the seizure of over 9,000 plants. In 2002 C.A.M.P. assisted the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office for a total of 16 days. In 2003, C.A.M.P. resources were needed in other Counties that had discovered numerous marijuana gardens that contained thousands of plants in each garden.
