Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested an Arcata man early this morning after responding to a noise complaint. Shortly before 3:00 AM deputies were sent to the 1300 block of Brady Court in McKinleyville due to a noisy party. Officers from the California Highway Patrol and sheriff’s deputies found a man passed out in the mud across the street from the party. When the deputies approached the sleeping man they discovered he had a large plastic bag of marijuana in his hand (later it was weighed; it weighed 53 grams). Deputies woke up Zeke Weiner, 33, and placed him under arrest for possession of marijuana. Weiner became angry and kicked the arresting deputy in the face.
Weiner was transported to the Humboldt County Correctional where he was booked for possession of more than an ounce of marijuana, possession for sale, and assault on a peace officer. Weiner’s bail has been set at $25,000.
