Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a Eureka man yesterday in connection with a fire that damaged a residence. At about 3:00 yesterday afternoon, personnel from the Humboldt Fire District and the Eureka Fire Department responded to a residential fire on the 2300 block of Harrison Avenue. Based on their preliminary investigation and witnesses’ statements, deputies arrested Charles William Burns, 20, at his residence, near the scene of the fire. Burns was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional facility on one count of PC451(B), arson of an inhabited structure (a felony). His bail has been set at $250,000 and he expected to be arraigned later this week. No injuries were reported.
