A Blue Lake gas station was robbed last evening by a man who brandished a handgun. Shortly before 7:00 PM, Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputies and an Arcata Canine Unit responded to a reported armed robbery at the 76 Gas Station on Blue Lake Blvd. Witnesses reported that at 6:55 PM a white adult male entered the gas station and approached the counter. The suspect reportedly brandished a semi-automatic handgun and demanded money from the station attendant. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register and left the gas station on foot.

The suspect is described as a white male adult, with red hair and a full, red beard. He was wearing a gray short-sleeved tee shirt with a red and black circular design on the chest. He was also wearing tan cargo shorts, tan running shoes, and blue “Oakley” brand sunglasses.

Nobody was injured during the robbery. Anyone with information is urged to call the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office at (707) 445-7251.
