On 08-16-2004 at approximately 1430 hours the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence located in the 2100 block of Fern Street, Cutten. Deputies were dispatched to the residence regarding a civil dispute on who should be living at the residence. While on scene Deputies discovered an indoor marijuana growing operation inside of the residence. The Drug Enforcement Unit for the Sheriff’s Office then responded to the scene. Deputies obtained a consent to search for the residence from one of the subjects at the residence.
Deputies then seized a total of 1,991 growing marijuana plants from inside of the residence. Two of the bedrooms inside of the residence had been converted into marijuana growing rooms. The first bedroom contained 51 marijuana plants that were approximately 3 feet in height each. The second bedroom contained a sophisticated marijuana cloning operation. Deputies seized 1940 marijuana clones that were approximately 6 inches in height each.
Deputies arrested William David Telnes age 31 at the scene for cultivation and possession of marijuana for sales.
This case is still under investigation by the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office.
