A Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested a fifteen year-old high school student this morning after just under one pound of marijuana was found in his locker. School Resource Deputy Matt Helm was called to McKinleyville High School this morning when Principal David Lonn discovered the processed marijuana in a student’s locker. The Principal reported he noticed the locker was not locked and, because that was unusual, he opened it to confirm that nothing was missing. The marijuana was packaged in six separate bags and, in total, weighed .83 pounds.
The student, whose name is being withheld due to his age, was cited for possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana for sale. He was released to the custody of his parents.
