As required by the terms of the grant application, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office is submitting a resolution to the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, April 26, 2005 for their approval on filing for an Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Grant.
The OHV grant pays for the Sheriff’s Office’s Beach Deputy whose duties include enforcement of state laws, federal regulations, and Humboldt County Beach Ordinances. Additionally, the Beach Deputy provides law enforcement information and education regarding environmental issues and conservation concerns about the county’s beaches and dunes. The Beach Deputy works closely with volunteer organizations that are concerned with off-highway vehicle usage.
At the Board meeting, the public may address the Board of Supervisors regarding the Beach Patrol Grant. The meeting is scheduled for April 26, 2005 and public comment begins at 1:30 p.m. It will be held in the Board Chambers on the first floor of the Humboldt County Courthouse.
