On 04-28-2005 at 1:45 p.m. the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office Drug Enforcement Unit served a search warrant for an indoor marijuana growing operation on the 4000 of Elkridge Road in the Briceland area of southern Humboldt County.

On the property deputies discovered a sophisticated indoor marijuana growing operation. Deputies seized 2,862 marijuana plants that ranged in size from 2 inches to 5 feet. Deputies also seized 2 1/2 pounds of processed marijuana. A 90-kilowatt diesel generator was supplying the electrical power to the indoor marijuana growing operation. The generator was buried underground and there were two large diesel fuel tanks on the property. One of the fuel tanks appeared to be leaking and Humboldt County Environmental Health was called to the scene.
No suspects were located on the property. The case is still under investigation by the Sheriff's Office and Environmental Health.
