Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Klamath River near Bluff Creek late yesterday afternoon after receiving reports of a drowning. At about 4:30 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office received a call that three men had been fishing on the river when their boat overturned. When deputies arrived they learned that two of the three fishermen had survived. However, the third man, Ernest Dean Davis, 63 of Somes Bar, was deceased. Mr. Davis’ death appears to be an accidental drowning and the case has been handed over to the Humboldt County Coroner’s Office.
