On 03-21-2006 at 0700 hours the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit assisted the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration with a Federal search warrant on a parcel of property located on the 7600 block of Kneeland Road, Eureka. When officers searched the property they located an indoor marijuana growing operation inside of a barn. Officers seized 128 marijuana plants from the barn that raged in size from 6 inches to 4 feet.

Officers located Carey Michael Fields, age 32, inside of the residence on the property. When officers searched the residence they located 28 pounds of processed marijuana and $2,600 dollars in cash. Fields is currently on Felony probation out of the State of Oregon for possession of a controlled substance. Fields was placed under arrest for cultivation and possession of marijuana for sales and for violation of probation.

This case is still under investigation by the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration out of San Francisco.
