On 06-28-2006 at 1640 hours the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit served a search warrant on a parcel of property located in the Rancho Sequoia area of Alderpoint. Deputies located two illegal Hispanic males inside an indoor marijuana growing operation on the property. Neither of the Hispanic males spoke English. Both suspects were placed under arrest for cultivation and possession for sales of marijuana. Deputies seized 453 growing marijuana plants that ranged in size from 6 inches to 12 inches.
Both suspects were transported to jail in Eureka where an interpreter identified them as Pedro Armando-Tun age 26 and Wilbert Chamex age 27. Both suspects admitted that they were in the country illegally from Mexico.
Both suspects are currently in custody in the Humboldt County Correctional Facility for marijuana related charges with an immigration hold placed on them.
This case is still under investigation.
