Two Eureka residents were arrested Friday night after methamphetamine, heroin, and butane torches were found in their luggage as they after checked in for a flight at the Eureka/Arcata Airport. On November 03, 2006 at about 8:30 p.m. Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the airport when an agent with the Transportation Security Administration discovered the contraband items during the screening process. A thorough search of the luggage revealed two butane torches (partially filled with butane), a ten-ounce butane bottle, 3 grams of suspected heroin, 9 grams of suspected methamphetamine, and miscellaneous pills.

The owner of the owner luggage was identified as 48 year-old Tabi L. Williamson. When Williamson and her traveling companion Charles D. Kapple, 54, presented themselves for passenger screening, deputies detained them for questioning.

Upon further investigation, both Williamson and Kapple were placed under arrest. They were each charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for sales, and Possession of Methamphetamine for sales. Williamson and Kapple were booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where both posted bail and were released to appear for arraignment on November 14, 2006.
