On 01-22-2007 at 3:00 pm the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit served a search warrant at two structures located in the 8400 block of Elk River Road, Eureka. The first structure on the property, which was the main residence, deputies contacted a male subject, who at first refused to identify himself. The male subject was later identified as Mark Lewis Murrish age 54.

At the second structure on the property, deputies located a sophisticated indoor marijuana growing operation. This structure was at one time was used as a living residence. Every room in the residence had been converted into marijuana growing rooms. Deputies seized 960 growing marijuana plants that ranged in size from 6 inches to 3 feet in height from inside of this structure.

When deputies searched Mark Murrish’s residence they located 1.2 grams of methamphetamine inside a pair of pants in the bathroom that also contained Mark Murrish’s personal identification.

Mark Murrish was arrested and transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility, where he was booked for refusing to identify himself to law enforcement, possession of methamphetamine, cultivation and possession for sales of marijuana. Murrish’s bail has been set at $20,000.
