The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office is looking for an Oregon man who was reported missing on February 19, 2007. Ira Abraham Carrier, 25 years old, left his Ashland, Oregon residence on February 13, 2007 but did not indicate to his family where he was going. On February 18, 2007 the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office investigated a report of a person camping in their vehicle on Highway 299 near Willow Creek. A deputy responded and found a car parked near a driveway on Highway 299 but there was nothing suspicious about the vehicle. The car was registered to Mr. Carrier but he had not yet been reported missing.
The following day, February 19, 2007 Mr. Carrier’s father reported him missing. Sheriff’s Deputies returned to the vehicle and searched the area again but did not locate Mr. Carrier.
Later in the day on February 19, 2007 a citizen found a backpack and a guitar case near the Hammond Trail in McKinleyville. The citizen turned the property in to an employee of Roger’s Market who found Mr. Carrier’s identification in it.
The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office is asking that anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Ira Abraham Carrier to call the Sheriff’s Office at (707) 445-7251.
Mr. Carrier is a white male adult, 5’8” tall, weighing 135 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes. Mr. Carrier has a physical impairment that causes him to walk with a limp.
The car he was driving was a 1995 red Subaru wagon, Oregon license plate 070BXD.
