On 4/19/07 at approximately 2006 hours, deputies from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office and Officers from the Hoopa Valley Tribal Police Department responded to a business located on Highway 96 for a report of an attempted robbery and shooting.
Upon Arrival, deputies learned that an adult male had attempted to rob the business. During the incident the business owner shot the suspect. The suspect fled on foot and was located in a nearby trailer park.
The suspect was transported to a Eureka hospital for treatment of his injuries and remains under medical care.
Humboldt County Sheriff’s Detectives and an evidence technician responded to the scene to conduct the investigation.
The names of the business owner and suspect are not being released at this time as the matter is still under investigation by this department.
