Location: Myers Flat
Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a Myers Flat man early this morning after finding him in possession of methamphetamine, heroin, concentrated cannabis, and a variety of prescription pills. At about 12:30 this morning, Sheriff’s Deputies were at a residence on Boy Scout Camp Road in Myers Flat conducting a follow-up investigation to an unrelated case. While there, Neil Eugene Kemp, 45, drove up to the property. Deputies recognized Kemp and knew that his driver’s license was suspended. Additionally, Deputies knew that Kemp was on probation with a term of not to drive without a valid driver’s license. Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Kemp and searched his vehicle incident to arrest. They found three hypodermic needles.
Sheriff’s Deputies obtained permission to search Kemp’s residence, a trailer on the same property where they were. Inside Kemp’s trailer Deputies found:
43.94 grams of suspected methamphetamine
32.32 grams of suspected heroin
4.5 grams of suspected Psilocybin Mushrooms
1.3 grams of suspected concentrated cannabis
71 hypodermic needles
65 pills (narcotics)
Miscellaneous drug paraphernalia
Kemp was transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility and booked for possession of a controlled substance, possession of a narcotic controlled substance, possession of narcotic controlled substance for sale, keeping a place to sell a controlled substance, possession of psilocyn, possession of a hypodermic needle, possession of concentrated cannabis, a probation violation, and driving on a suspended license.
Kemp’s bail was set at $30,000. Kemp posted bail and was released from custody. He is scheduled to appear for arraignment on July 23, 2007.
