As we begin to see this year’s first snow, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office is reminding the public to be respectful of private property rights. Please remember that all areas off of the roads between Kneeland and Bridgeville are privately owned, as is the property on Bear River Ridge on Monument Road (between Rio Dell and Ferndale). Those people choosing to visit the snow are encouraged to ensure they are not trespassing. The Sheriff’s Office reminds the public that trespassing is a misdemeanor. The public can enjoy the snow on Forest Service lands such as the Titlow Hill area. However, always check current road conditions before departing and be sure to have chains or snow tires. Remember to drive carefully and carry appropriate gear such as a charged cellular telephone and clothing suitable for winter conditions.
