Humboldt County Sheriff’s Detectives arrested a second man in connection with the Easter Sunday home invasion robbery in McKinleyville. Yesterday James George Lenard Smith, 29 of Eureka, was booked on charges of robbery of an inhabited dwelling and burglary. Smith is suspected of participating in the robbery on Harden Drive during which the victim fired a weapon at the suspects as they drove away. One person inside the vehicle (not Smith) was injured. Smith is the second suspect who has been arrested in this case. On May 20, 2009 Isaac Metheney, 26, was booked on the same charges.
An arrest warrant has been issued for a third suspect; Asika Nicks, 25, is wanted for his suspected participation in the same robbery. Nicks is a black male adult, 6’ 1” tall, about 180 with black hair and brown eyes. (**Photos of Nicks are attached to this release).
Anyone with information regarding this case or the whereabouts of Asika Nicks should call Sheriff’s Detective Wayne Hanson at (707) 268-3639.
