A Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested a man last night after finding him in possession of 3.6 grams of methamphetamine. At about 10:00 Thursday might, Deputy Greg Musson conducted a vehicle investigation on a car that was stopped at an off-ramp on southbound US 101 near Rio Dell. Deputy Musson contacted the driver, John Charles Edwards, 57 of Rio Dell, and learned that Edwards had a suspended license. Deputy Musson arrested Edwards. When he searched Edwards’ pockets after his arrest, Deputy Musson found six small plastic baggies containing methamphetamine; each baggie weighed 0.6 grams.
Edwards was transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked for the transportation or sales of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, driving on a suspended license, failure to provide proof of insurance, and expired vehicle registration. He posted bail in the amount of $25,000 and is scheduled to appear in court August 19, 2010.
