On 1/29/11, at about 1054 hrs, Garberville units of the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office and the California Highway Patrol’s Redway Office responded to a 911 call in the 600 block of Locust Street in Garberville for a man with a gun and shots being fired. Multiple witnesses at the scene reported an argument involving a male adult and a younger female. The male was reported to have fired two shots from a revolver at the female. Deputies located the suspect coming out of the residence with blood on his hands. Inside the residence Deputies located 5 ounces of concentrated cannabis and over 6 lbs of marijuana in preparation for the production of concentrated cannabis. The firearm used in the shooting was located in the back yard and had been fired twice. Arrested at the scene was Hugh Bradly Henson (age 39) for attempt homicide, a felon in possession of a firearm, child endangerment and other drug related charges. Henson’s wife, Penny Marie Henson (age 47) was also arrested for drug and child endangerment charges. The victim of the intended shooting escaped injury. Both suspects were booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility.
