On 04-04-12, approximately 09:30 a.m. the Humboldt County Sheriffs Office was notified of a vehicle burglary that occurred in the 2100 block of McClaskey Lane, Eureka. The victim reported at 10:30 p.m. 4-03-2012 she parked her vehicle in her driveway. When she walked out to her vehicle at 8:30 a.m. this morning she saw the front passenger window was smashed in. There was a Aribex Nomad hand held, portable dental X-ray machine missing that had been on the front passenger seat. The X-Ray Machine had two battery packs in a black hard plastic case. The case is about 22” long, 14” wide and 14” tall. The case had wheels and a handle. The X-ray machine belongs to the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco where the victim works.
The victim told the investigating deputy the X-Ray Machine will produce radiation when it is in use. Use of the X-ray machine by an untrained person can cause serious health issues to that person and anyone around them.
